A morning edition on men's health after 40
Edition 9 is out today

Desire, the night with her, and the muscles nobody trains. Today's edition is out.

You're past 40. You notice it. Less drive by evening. A 3 a.m. trip to the bathroom. A set at the gym that used to be easy. And at night you want her to want you, and you want to feel like the man she reaches for.

We built Arlo as a short course, delivered like a morning paper. One short read. One pelvic-floor set, in the position shown. One idea for the two of you. About seven minutes. Finish it, and tomorrow's edition unlocks.

Edition one opens right after checkout.

Wanting her after 40 is normal. Saying it is the rare part.

Most men your age notice the same things: less drive by evening, a night broken by a bathroom trip, a hesitation with her they never name. Today's read names them, man to man.

Set, 3 min

The lying-flat hold

On your back. Knees bent, feet flat. Squeeze the muscles you'd use to stop mid-stream. Hold three seconds, release three. Ten rounds. Keep the glutes soft. Keep breathing.

Hips, 90 seconds

Deep squat hold

Heels flat. Elbows inside the knees. Chest up. Hold thirty seconds, stand, repeat twice. Heels lifting? Hold a doorframe.

For two, 1 min preview

Side-lying, facing the same way

A first look at unit four, and why we open it with a position that puts no weight on knees or wrists.

Locate the floor

Editions 1–2. Lie flat, knees bent. Find the muscles you'd use to stop mid-stream. Squeeze them alone: no glutes, no clenched jaw, no held air.

2

Hold it, lying flat and seated

Editions 3–6. Counted holds, slow releases. On your back first. Then sitting tall at the edge of a seat, feet planted, at your desk or on the train.

3

Carry it upright

Editions 7–12. Standing holds while the coffee brews. The bridge: hips up, hold, lower slowly. The deep squat: heels flat, floor engaged, chest tall.

4

Pace it with the trunk

Editions 13–18. Slow exhale on the squeeze, full inhale on the release. Core bracing and hip openers sit right alongside the pelvic set.

5

Bring it to the nights with her

Editions 19–24. The intimacy chapter. Positions named by comfort, closeness and pace, written for both of you.

Why it's built in this order

Lying flat comes first. Gravity is out of the way, so all your attention goes on finding the right muscles.

Upright comes next, once the hold feels familiar. Then the trunk and hips, so the pace of the squeeze matches the pace of the inhale and exhale.

The chapter for two comes last. By then you know the vocabulary, the positions and the counts. One lesson a day, locked in sequence. Show up, open it, do it.

How the editions unlock

A short course, released one piece a day. Here's the rhythm.

It lands at the hour you set

Pick 6:30 a.m., lunch or 10 p.m. The edition waits on the Today tab until you open it.

Finish it, and the next one opens at midnight

One edition per day. No skipping ahead. The order is the method.

Missed a day? It waits for you.

No penalty, no reset. Tomorrow you pick up exactly where you stopped.

The intimacy chapter opens at edition 19

Unit four is written for the two of you. We name each position, say who sets the pace, how much the hips and knees carry, and how slow to go. Read it alone first. Or read it out loud with her.

Side-lying, facing the same way

Comfort
No weight on knees, wrists or the lower back.
Closeness
Your arms around her, your chest to her back, talking in a whisper.
Pace
Slow and small. Easy to pause.

Seated, face to face

Comfort
You sit against the headboard, a pillow behind you, legs relaxed.
Closeness
Eye level. Foreheads together. Hands free.
Pace
She sets it.

On your sides, face to face

Comfort
A pillow between the knees, hips loose.
Closeness
Eye contact the whole time.
Pace
Unhurried, with room to stop and laugh.

Why readers signed up

In their words, about deciding to try it.

"My husband turned 47 and quietly stopped talking about the gym. I found Arlo and sent him edition one. He reads it at breakfast now, and I like that it talks to him straight."

Vera, Lisbon

"I wanted something with no gym bag and nothing to explain to anyone. Seven minutes on the floor before the kids wake up. That was the deal I made with myself."

Kai, Wellington

"We read the chapter for two together on a Sunday morning. It speaks to both of us like adults. That's why I paid for the year."

Carla, Seville

Things men want settled first

Short replies from our team.

Do I need equipment or a gym?

No. A floor or a bed, a mat if you like, a wall for the standing holds and a doorframe for the deep squat. That's the kit.

Can my partner read the chapter for two?

Yes. Unit four is written to both of you. Hand her your phone, or read it together. Nothing in the course needs a second account.
